NSW Police have charged a 33-year-old alleged member of the Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang after arresting him at Sydney International Airport on Friday, 23 October 2026, over a series of alleged violent offences in the Lake Macquarie region.
Investigators from Raptor Squad North arrested the man at about 8.10am after he arrived in Australia. Australian Border Force and Australian Federal Police officers assisted with the operation, according to a statement issued by NSW Police.
The arrest followed an investigation by Strike Force Vigo, which was established in November 2024 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs. Detectives said their inquiries linked the man to an alleged extortion incident involving a 57-year-old man in December 2024 and an alleged home invasion and serious assault in Cardiff in February 2025.
Police allege three men forced their way into a unit on Macquarie Road in Cardiff at about 10pm on 4 February 2025 and assaulted a 30-year-old man. Emergency services attended after receiving reports of the incident. The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries.
Three people were subsequently charged in connection with the alleged home invasion, and their matters remain before the courts. Further inquiries identified a fourth alleged offender, a 33-year-old man who police said had travelled overseas.
Following his arrest at the airport, the man was taken to Mascot Police Station. Police charged him with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery causing wounding or grievous bodily harm, two counts of participating in a criminal group and contributing to criminal activity, and demanding property with menaces in company with intent to steal.
Police said the man was refused bail and was due to appear before Bail Division Court 7 on Friday, 23 October. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
The case forms part of continuing police efforts to investigate suspected organised criminal activity. NSW Police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, rather than reporting allegations through police social media accounts.
