Australia’s Winter Olympics preparations will continue in northern Italy despite two staff members testing positive for Covid-19, according to the Australian delegation.
AAP reports the individuals are not athletes and will not compete at the Winter Olympics. Both were symptomatic and tested positive on 28 and 31 January.
Measures have been put in place to contain any potential spread of infection within the team.
Chef de mission Alisa Camplin said the Australian team has established medical protocols for infectious diseases, which are standard practice in high-performance sporting environments.
Australia will send 53 athletes to compete at the Winter Olympics, making it the country’s second-largest winter team ever and the biggest in 12 years.
