Editorial Standards

Last updated: 22 September 2026 (AEST)

Australia By Aussie aims to publish accurate, responsible and useful journalism for an Australian audience.

Accuracy and sourcing

We seek to verify important facts using reliable sources, including official statements, public records, direct documents and reputable reporting. We distinguish information that is confirmed from claims or allegations made by others.

Fairness and context

We aim to present relevant context and avoid misleading headlines, selective presentation or unnecessary sensationalism. Where significant competing claims exist, we aim to identify them clearly.

Names and identification

We take care when identifying individuals and generally rely on reliable source material before publishing names or identifying details.

Opinion and analysis

Opinion and analysis are identified separately from straightforward news reporting. The views expressed in opinion material belong to the author and are not necessarily presented as established fact.

Advertising and sponsorship

Commercial content is kept distinguishable from editorial content. Sponsored or paid material is identified where applicable.

Corrections

If we identify a material factual error, we may correct the article and, where appropriate, explain the correction. Readers can report possible errors through our Corrections Policy.

Technology and AI-assisted production

Technology, including AI-assisted tools, may be used in parts of our production workflow. Such tools do not change our responsibility to review published material and correct errors when identified.
