An Emirates flight from Dubai to Sydney has departed, marking the first service on the route since air travel disruptions began following escalating conflict in the Middle East.
Flight EK414 left Dubai at 2:23am local time and is expected to land in Sydney after a journey of approximately 13 hours and 30 minutes, arriving just after 10:30pm local time.
The departure follows several days of aviation disruption across the region after airlines suspended operations due to safety concerns linked to the conflict.
Emirates had paused almost all flights to and from Dubai until late Tuesday, allowing only a limited number of repatriation and cargo services to operate.
Passengers who had booked earlier flights have been prioritised for available seats on the limited services that resumed.
The airline has advised travellers not to attend the airport unless they have been contacted directly or hold a confirmed booking for one of the repatriation flights.
Air travel across parts of the Middle East remains uncertain as airlines continue to monitor security conditions and airspace restrictions.
