Tony Mokbel will walk free after prosecutors dropped his final outstanding drug charge following years of legal battles.
The 60-year-old appeared at the Supreme Court of Victoria on Friday.
The remaining charge related to alleged MDMA trafficking in 2005, known as the Orbital matter.
Mokbel successfully appealed his earlier convictions last year, with judges ordering a potential re-trial.
He argued his convictions were tainted because he was represented by barrister-turned-police informer Nicola Gobbo.
A judicial registrar urged prosecutors in December to decide whether to proceed with a re-trial.
On Friday, prosecutor David Glynn announced the case would be discontinued.
Mokbel is expected to leave court to waiting media.
