Shadow energy minister Dan Tehan says there is no reason senior Liberals and Nationals cannot repair the Coalition split through good faith negotiations this week.
Speaking to ABC RN Breakfast, Tehan said leaders from both parties should meet privately in Canberra to work through their differences after last month’s split.
Tehan said discussions should be held behind closed doors, with a focus on setting aside past disagreements and concentrating on reforming the Coalition.
He said lawmakers were returning to parliament this week and that restoring the Coalition should be an immediate priority if both sides entered talks constructively.
