Tame Impala wins Grammy for best dance/electronic recording

Australia’s Tame Impala has won a Grammy Award for best dance/electronic recording at the Grammy Awards ceremony held today.

The award was presented for the track End of Summer. Tame Impala was among several Australian acts nominated across categories at this year’s ceremony.

The project, led by Australian musician Kevin Parker, was recognised in the best dance/electronic recording category, which honours individual tracks within electronic and dance music.

Other Australian acts nominated at the ceremony included punk band Amyl and the Sniffers and electronic group Rüfüs Du Sol, though no further outcomes relating to those nominations were reported in the source.

The Grammy Awards are presented annually by the Recording Academy in the United States and recognise achievements across the global music industry.

The Guardian is running live coverage of the ceremony through its Grammys liveblog.
