UAE minister condemns Iran’s missile attacks

The United Arab Emirates says it has faced an unprecedented wave of attacks during the escalating Middle East conflict.

UAE minister for international cooperation Reem Al Hashimy said Iran had launched more than 1,800 missiles and drones targeting Gulf countries.

Speaking to ABC News, she described the scale of the attacks as unprecedented.

UAE says it has taken the brunt of strikes

According to Al Hashimy, the Emirates has received the majority of the strikes.

She said the number of missiles and drones directed at the country was higher than those targeting any other nation involved in the conflict.

“We’ve borne the brunt of most of the missiles and drone attacks,” she said.

Air defences intercept majority of projectiles

Despite the large number of attacks, UAE air defence systems intercepted the majority of incoming missiles and drones.

Officials say these defensive measures prevented widespread destruction across the country.

The UAE has long invested heavily in missile defence systems designed to counter regional threats.

Minister calls Iran’s actions “irrational”

Al Hashimy criticised Tehran’s actions during the interview.

“It’s really quite surprising for us that Iran has taken such an irrational path to fight the Gulf states,” she said.

She also described the attacks as “unlawful” and “unacceptable.”

Conflict intensifying across the region

The comments come as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

The conflict has already disrupted global energy markets and international shipping routes.

Analysts warn that further escalation could have major geopolitical and economic consequences worldwide.
